Mare Nostrum
The Mare Nostrum is (or was) a two register manual wind chronograph, in a 42mm case unlike any other Panerai. The original prototype was intended to be an officer's deck watch. It was launched with the rest of the Vendome collection in 1997, with black, white or blue dials, in a total of 400 pieces for all variants. However it was discontinued after one season. It has a graduated tachymeter bezel which reads "TACHYMETER" between 1 and 2 (the pre-Vendome models read "Km/H").
The Mare Nostrum used a hand-wind ETA 2801-2 with a chronograph module from Dubois-Depraz.
