Luminor GMT 44mm

The GMT is an automatic watch in a Luminor case, and a centre GMT hand pointing to a 24 hour scale. It also has a date indication at 3.

Over the years the GMT has suffered the most design changes of the entire line, with fairly radical rethinks occurring for both C and D. The initial models (A and B) had the numerals engraved on the bezel, but for the C production the numbers moved down onto the dial.

A, B and C models had centre seconds and a semi-illegible GMT hand, on which only the arrow pointer was visible. In common with nearly all other Luminor models the D series now have a sub-seconds dial at 9. The D series GMT hand is now all silvered, and a lot more visible.

The final design change for D is the replacement of the original ETA 2893/2 movement with the modified Valjoux 7750 OP VIII.

The GMT and the submersible are the only two models with "skeleton" hands as opposed to the regular batons.

Some care should be applied when reading the production numbers below. There are quite a few B series GMT watches around with serial numbers "Bxxx/500". My guess would be that, unlike other years and other models, the different designs were split up into different runs of numbers, so maybe the PAM 23 is numbered xxx/500, and the 29 is numbered xxx/1000, making a total run of 1500 GMT watches for the B series.

The F (2003) series added a further bracelet model with a new dial, and 40mm models on a bracelet or strap, and the H series added a lightly modified version of the original PAM 92 Arktos to the line.
