Luminor Base

The Luminor Base is the simplest of all Panerai models, a hand-wind featuring just hour and minute hands. The case is the classic 44mm Luminor case with the crown-lock device, and is mounted on a leather strap.

It is available with black or white dials, and there was a PVD version, which has now been replaced by titanium.

The movement was always a hand wind OP I, behind a solid caseback, however in common with the rest of the historic collection, the arrival of the new E series movement in 2002 has changed this to be an OP X, with a display back.

For the H series, the Luminor Marina and Base received a significant overhaul, in that the decoration on the bridges changed from the stamped Panerai to a côtes de geneve engraving, and all model except white dials now have a sandwich dial.
