Welcome to the Paneristi 'Panerai in the Movies' Page!
Our favorite watch has a filmography that many actors would be jealous of!
Because of that, we’ve decided to devote a page to Panerai in the Movies.
Let’s face it, most of us are going to see more Panerais in movies, magazines and TV than in ‘the wild’. In some cases, people will see a Panerai in a movie before they ever see one in person. Here are screen captures (many thanks to Kiril for his phenomenal work!) from some of the most famous movies our favorite watches have appeared in.
So, grab some popcorn, dim the lights and Enjoy!
Starting us off of course is the movie where a Panerai Luminor Marina actually had a scene before the leading actor! Though newly elected Governor Schwarzenegger actually received his Panerai as a gift from Sylvester Stallone, his movie “Eraser” actually showcased a Panerai before any of Sly’s.

As Panerais grew in popularity, even rap stars gave up the traditional “bling-bling” for the Italian dive watches. Though not in the beginning of the movie, DMX showcases his own Panerai 40 mm Automatic Marina very much like the opening scene in “Eraser” in the his movie, “Exit Wounds”.

UK actor Jason Stratham is a very big Panerai fan. Though Panerai enthusiasts were aghast that his Panerai fell victim to Hollywood's artistic license (the opening scene showing Jason's chronograph portrays it as an "alarm watch"), you can hear him comment with pride about the watch during the scene's commentary on "The Transporter" DVD. I don't think he's kidding either because it looks as if he never took the watch off during the movie! A 'must-see' scene is the 'oil fight'. How his watch survived that scene is anybody's guess!

Jason Stratham's enthusiasm about his Panerai earned "The Italian Job" an honorable mention. Though the watch doesn't appear in the movie, check out the behind the scenes pictures where again, the watch doesn't seem to leave his wrist!

Notorious for being a Panerai fan (among other things), Hugh Grant has been seen wearing his Panerai in magazines, on TV interviews and the like. He didn't leave the Panerai home for "Bridget Jones' Diary" or "Two Weeks Notice".
