OK - confession time.
Shortly after my arrival at the SIHH I was talking to Mr Bonati, when he issued some instructions in that amazing blend of Italian, French and German that all Panerai employees seem to speak. Moments later a box was brought in. Ooh, I thought, I know what comes in those boxes.
To cut a long story short, Mr Bonati presented me with this watch
A PAM 90, yet another of the Panerai line which looks a lot better in person that it does in photos.
What makes this watch so utterly unique, and something that I will treasure forever, is only visible when you turn it over ...
Obviously I am extremely grateful for, not to say stunned by this amazing gesture.
A while back on the Paneristi forum, Aurelio asked what people's "sabi" watches were, from the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, something that you would never let go, and something that will age with you. I think I've found my "sabi".
