I, Paneristi
A Short Story by PeteJ79
It was a cold Chicago day, and I was routinely nodding off at my desk again.
In and out of a dream I heard a doorbell ring, and I stumbled to the door. It was the FedEx man, with a package for me. Still groggy from sleep, I brought it back to my desk and wondered, what could this be?

The address lable bore my name, from someone named OJ something or other.
It was then that I realized what this name meant. Power, Addiction, and Guardian of An unknown number of Panerai watches that could probably fill Fort Knox.

As I was opening the box, my vision blurred.

After passing out from sheer excitement, I came to, and got my first look at this incredible PAM00002, Series D.

As I took the watch off its pillow, I was dumbfounded by what I saw next.

It looked like some sort of radar antenna or bottle opening apparatus. After managing to lift the watch, I tried it on.
The bizarre buckle intimidated me for a brief moment, and after nearly declaring it a new continent, It magically became a part of my wrist.

I was absolutely shocked that so large a buckle would feel so good, and look so snazzy!

It took a few moments for it to sink in, and it was then that I realized, I had become a REAL Paneristi!

YESSSSSSSSS! BEHOLD MY POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After a small commissioning ceremony and celebratory Guinness,

I drifted back off to sleep to the beating of its heart, wondering what wonderful adventures lay in store for us in the future…….
